We can all wear every colour!
(Except black. There are only some women that will genuinely look and feel great in black).
The important thing to know is
what clarity of colour harmonises with your natural colouring.
There are 4 clarities of colour as seen in my 4 Colour Guides:
COLOUR
Why does this matter?
The clarity of colour that is balanced with your natural colouring
is the palette that will make your eyes look their most beautiful.
We have all heard the saying ‘the eyes are the window to the soul’.
When our eyes shine brightly, we look radiant and feel beautiful.
How can I spot the clarity of colour that works for me?
I have designed a Colour Guide for each of these clarities. You can see these below.
When you place your Colour Guide onto a garment, if the colour of the garment
blends into the Colour Guide, then that garment has the right clarity for you.
If your Colour Guide sits on top of the colour of the garment, then it is not yours.
SIMPLE!
How does this system relates to the 4 Seasons
and the concept of warm and cool colours?
The Seasonal names have been used because the 4 palettes do resemble the 4 seasons of nature.
And yes, two of these palettes can be said to be warm and two of them cool.
That is simply due to how each palette is formed.
Bold & Clear colours are PURE, saturated colours (cool)
Bright & Clear colours are made by adding WHITE to pure colours (warm)
Soft & Dusty colours are made by adding GREY to pure colours (cool)
Rich & Earthy colours are made by adding BLACK to pure colours (warm)
Be assured though, it is far easier to work out the clarity of a colour than whether
a colour is warm or cool. Take, for example, RED. There are millions of variations of reds.
Each of them will fit into only one of the four clarities.
By simply placing your card onto the red, you will see whether that red's clarity is one of yours.
This is by far the most user friendly and most accurate way of coding colour.
Wearing colour is exciting. But it does need to be the right clarity of colour for YOU!
